Any special requests for photos before I put this doubleneck back together?
I've been scratching my head about a few things, not so much to understand them, but whether to think of them as deficiencies or "character".
For example, the 6-string headstock reads 'Joe Maphis Model I' and I'm pretty confident it came from another guitar, probably a Joe Maphis. The clay markers are a different color than the 12-string markers, the trussrod adjusts from below (unlike the 12-string), the neck tab shows a previous mounting pattern, and--oh, right--the serial number shows previous impressions.
And I hate to mention it, but has anybody seen nails used to join the neck to the body?
This is probably just the way things are with a 40-year-old guitar.
