Kimmo, have you used either of the Mosrites on a Surf Gig?
make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.

Slippery fingers wrote:Man this is a hard question there really is'nt a correct single answer, first off I don't gig with my Mosrite, when we do Beatle stuff I use the Ric, when we do Rockabilly I use the Gretsch. But for most of our stuff I use my G&L Legacy 2HB, it has coil taps so I can get almost any sound I need from a Strat to a Les Paul and just about everything in between.
Paul

Paul, that's interesting! You don't use the Gretsch ALSO when you do the Beatles stuff??
I've gotten to the point where I'm using the Mosrite in place of the RIC, only because it
still (also) can give you the "jingle-jangle tone" thing, as long as you remember to back
off a little on the VOL control  .

Warning: Resurrected thread!

'Do not gig with the Mosrite guitar either; 'only play out as church bassist, usually on an Ibanez Thunderbird IV clone-oid or Line 6 Variax Bass VB700.

But it's interesting to hear others say what has been observed fisrst-eared; the Mosrite's pups are SO strong. Closest thing heard as far as output is the Gibson SG Faded, goodness, whatever those pups are wound with, there must be miles of it and radioactive. Those boys are LOUD.

Since I got it my Hallmark60 Custom is my back up. It not even close to the output of my Jackson Soloist.

Hands down, my second guitar is my Gretsch Bamboo Yellow Anni with TV classics. I love it!
