Sarah, that was brilliant. Thank you for the tour of the raw wood part of the guitar.

I thought I'd add to a terrific thread by Sarah by pointing out a major departure in the Celebrity import bodies. My A-series Celebrity does not have a block beneath the bridge. The photo below (also iPhone) shows two supports running parallel to the strings and just outside the bridge. You can make out one of those supports in the upper foreground, the bridge pickup on the left, one of the bridge bolts near center, the second support behind it and wires converging at the controls on the right.

Wow, that is very interesting. I think this is what they mean by "Tressle" bracing. Some Gretsches have a tressle type, for example, some Falcons that this. Cool picture!!

Why, thank you Aaron. I like to contribute if I can. I learn SO much here. I picked up the motor from the shop for my motorcycle today and as soon as my roommate's boyfriend puts it back in my bike, then I'll be kickin' some major butt! I've really missed riding Suzy. My roommates boyfriend got a bit intoxicated a couple of weeks ago and I had to ride his VMax home for him. That thing is not an ordinary VMax so you can imagine how BAD it is. I feel pretty cool on it though! :D

A couple more pics in the interest of understanding Celebrity construction. From 1973, no. 2DL0060.

Hi Handbrake,

very interesting pictures! There is a lot more bracing inside your guitar than in mine. I am curious about the round hole directly under the pickup. Does it serve a purpose?
