Hello,
I am a new member, thanks for allowing me to join. I have a guitar that I am trying to identify in order to sell. It looks similar to a Celebrity but in my research online I have not seen one exactly like it.I wonder if it could possibly be a Mosrite neck stuck on a different body? The serial number on the neck is H1212.
Any help you might be able to offer is greatly appreciated!
I will add photos when I figure out how to do so (any tips would’ve greatly appreciated)
Thanks
Brian

Welcome to the forum. If you don't have a third party photo host I can help put up your photos.
You can email them to me at: Sarah@MosriteCelebrity.com
I can host them on my photo account and post them to this thread. I'm curious to see the features of your guitar. H1212 is not a Celebrity serial number series, but it may be a Combo series. I would not be surprised if a Combo neck fits a Celebrity.

Re: Hollow Body Identification
Got it Brian.
So, what I think you have is what we call a "Partsrite". Basically a guitar made from Mosrite parts and in this case most of the parts are not Mosrite. I think the neck is likely a Mosrite Combo based on the serial number. The Tuners look to be the Japanese tuners we see on some Mosrite guitars.
There is something off about the body, leading me to think it is not a Mosrite body. The two horns are a different angle than what we see on the Celebrity. The slanted neck pickup is not of the Mosrite configuration on a Celebrity. The hardware on the body is not Mosrite parts.

Re: Hollow Body Identification
This reply from another forum seems to answer the discrepancies you discussed Sarah.
It's a Vox body, Bill Grugget put together a bunch of guitars using them in the late 60s there in Bakersfield some under the Ebcor brand.

Re: Hollow Body Identification
That would make perfect sense Brian. It is great to know the history of a guitar and I'd say you have a keeper. Mr. Gruggett did not build a lot of Celebrity style guitars.
