NGD!!! American Model V3 and an M-88

Postby StevieSTL » Thu Apr 03, 2014 3:10 pm

I bid on three Mosrites in a London auction last month and I won these two! They are in amazing condition and I am honored to have them in my collection. I really fell in love with the V3 when I first saw it, it was made in '84. The wood binding on the neck and the maple back covers really give it a special feel. I really like the blue/grey color. The M88 is obviously a 1988 model, and sports a rare Maple board. I kind of dig the sparkly yellow as well. Both are signed by the man himself. Here are some pics. Enjoy!

Mosrite Forever!
The gangster looks so frightening, with his luger in his hand
When he gets home to his children, he's a family man
But when it comes to the nitty-gritty, he can shove in his knife
Yes he really looks quite religious, he's been an outlaw all his life

Wow, that V3 is gorgeous. If you every plan to sell it, drop me a line please!

Thanks for that. It made me smile ear to ear. The wood binding really attracted me because I really like similar treatment that my Hunt has. Still don't have a Ventures model in my collection though. *wink wink*

I definitely will keep that in mind. It's not going anywhere at the time being, though. I love her dude.

StevieSTL,

Congrats on such a nice collection! I think the yellow one from 1988 was actually what Semie called a "Butterscotch" finish.
ALSO, doublecheck your axle rod on the vibrato system for the V-3. It looks as though it might of worked itself loose on the
bass side, which would be your 4th, 5th and 6th string side. ;)
make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.

There aren't a lot of those V3s going around, Are there? And most manufactured guitars don't have wood neck plates, That's a neat touch. And as for the M88, Is it the very same guitar as seen here in this flyer photo?

(Where's a color version of this photo? I've seen one before.)

Well, If it is it doesn't have the same tailpiece as it did in the photo.
