GuitarPunk Mosrite signed by Johnny RAMONE

Hello forum,
Not a usual forum member but since I own a Mosrite (well it says so on it) I thought I'd join.

I own Johnny RAMONE issue Mosrite, signed by himself (number 3 or 30). It was bought from a company called GuitarPunk. I have heard that this may be deemed a fake, by the real Mosrite folk.

I just wonder if this is a fake? I paid £1200 for it. I have a certificate of authentication of Johnny's signature.

The guitar plays really well, it is very light.

I also play in a RAMONES tribute band, CARBONA NOT GLUE, the longest running RAMONES tribute band in the world! Started in 1996! Quite scary really. http://www.CarbonaNotGlue.co.uk (there's some videos of the guitar in action). at first I did not use it but then thought I am not going to sell it, so I may as well use as it was meant to. I have even put Johnny RAMONE gauge strings on it.

Anyway this is me just saying hi, hope I am not a fake Mosrite user.

I saw these strings they are Dean Markley Blue Steel gauge 9's. I just bought the Blue Steel gauge 9's.


worked ok for the gig last night. A bit lighter than my normal.

Anyone know where you can buy a Hallmark Johnny RAMONE guitar in UK. I know not a mosrite ....

I would like a back up and blue one.

Welcome, Robin! I believe that the Guitar Punk guitar is called a WeaselRite, and is its own brand - as far as I know, not a lot of these were produced. Someone is probably much more familiar with these than I, but they come up occasionally on eBay.

Welcome Robin! Bob beat me to it, but as an owner of several Hallmark guitars, I'd go with the JR Hallmark version. The high build quality of these guitars, and the very reasonable price make them an excellent choice over a "real" Mosrite which can go for 2-4x the price. I also own several variants or "fake" Mosrites, some of which are excellent, while others are crap.(My Kurokomo is quite nice, my Fullerton is crap.)
