Re: Projects in progress...
Very good work! I have some questions for you:
1: Are you going to finish the Victory III model? I like how it looks natural in the photos, But that's me.
2: How does the Ventures II Version 1 Vibrato compare to a typical Moseley vibrato?
3: How does the Ventures II Version 1 neck compare to other Mosrite necks? I heard they're smaller.

Re: Projects in progress...
Thanks Sancho, thanks Austin,
my answers:
1. My Victory III has a thin protection coat of nitro, and I think it's good that way – perhaps if I run out of projects I will finish it in translucent white or sand or something like that.
2. Well, it works, and it ain't bad, but it feels more shaky than the Moseley, less solid. I don't use it but it looks great, so I don't care.
3. Same scale length, thickness, frets, but narrower at the zero-fret (39.5mm, my '66 Celebrities have 42mm) with less string spacing, smaller headstock – overall more or less the same as a Celebrity III neck. I don't know if string spacing and width at the zero fret are different from a '65 Ventures Mark I...
Hope that helps...
Cheers, Max

Re: Projects in progress...
great work on the sharkfin model Max!
on the ventures 2 style tremolo I made, i see what max means by shaky. however with the spring being in the center I think that helps some. also they amazingly stay in tune really well. and depending on the angle you bend the metal of the top piece you can really adjust the depth in which the tremolo can be used. the one I made I can dive bomb on as far as a strat trem! cant do that with a moseley version.
the biggest down side is the top section completely falls off when there's no strings on the guitar, which can make for a pain to restring the guitar. a little more difficult then a bigsby, but once you get it started you're okay.

Thanks, Aaron...
you're right with the vibrato - if you restring 3 now, 3 then, you won't have the problem with the falling off top section
Cheers, Max
