As for the aluminum base is as strong as needed as long as it's thick enough material. Well, they even use that stuff to build airplanes.

This is a MIJ bass, needless to say they used the same size slots cut for all strings, the originals did not. Check out the D & G slots.

The end stop is 3" x 3/4" x 3/4" x 1/8", all measurements are taken from the outside edge.

BTW, the bridge base is also 3" wide.

String spacing is rather narrow, 1 3/4" center top to center bottom. When I built the one photographed, I widened it a bit because the bass player was accustomed to a Fender. The narrow spacing feels great though. Just ask Mel Waldorf.

The short scale, tight string spacing and high output pickups make the Mosrite basses an easy transition for guitar players, certainly at least this one!

Just a quick reference. If it's for the Ventures Bass (MARK X), that would be a medium scale.
If it's for something like the Celebrity CE-III Bass, then that would be the short scale .

By most standards, 30" is a short scale for bass. 24.5" for bass borders on the ridiculous.

Ooooops!! My Mistake!! OK, I stand corrected. Judging by the Mosrite Spec Chart, I had always thought that the scale chart for a Bass was as follows:

Short Scale-------24 1/2 inches (from Mosrite Catalog Spec Chart)
Medium Scale----30 1/4 inches (from Mosrite Catalog Spec Chart)
Long Scale--------34 inches (not from Mosrite Catalog Spec Chart)
Xtra Long Scale--?X?X?X?X? (not from Mosrite Catalog Spec Chart) but this one has me confused.
I have found for the definition of Extra Long Scale Bass was anywhere from a "35" to a 38" scale ....??
So, all you Bass Players----please ed-u-ma=cate this 'lost' guitar player what the actual difference is .
