Re: Hallmark Owner's Corner!
Friends, just a quick word about a gig-thingy that went down today in Haarlem, Holland -same place, same time every year with mainly Shadows type music, nothing special. Wait...let me rephrase that...it WAS special! I was the only one there again with a Mosrite type guitar -My Hallmark 60 Custom of course- and it was a blast.
Our former band mates got together for the show and we did our little bit with a 'Ventures Act' as a part. The organizer was very complimentary afterwards "good to have had you guys doing some other tunes and sounds as a welcome change"...wow.
Anyway, there was this gentleman who quietly stepped up towards the stage and took a very close look at the headstock of my axe to read what was there. I noticed while I was playing that he made a firm mental note of what he saw!
Just needed to say that....there, that was it for now

You never know what to expect with the type of event that this is (it's intended to provide an opportunity for 'home' guitar pickers to play along with a real live band -or backing track. Of course, most agree that a live band is by far the best option -and it was there today, we were part of itSarah93003 wrote:That's awesome, Paul. It sounds like you had a blast!

Re: Hallmark Owner's Corner!
Here's a closeup of my new Hallmark 'Road to Ruin' with the addition of Bob Shade's trem tailpiece. It seems like a logical addition to me, but Bob says nobody else has ordered one like this. It sounds great!
Despite the superficial resemblance to the profile of the 60 Custom model, this is a completely different guitar in feel. While the C60 conveys an impression of smoothness and grace, this Road to Ruin says 'Brute Strength." The neck behind the nut is about as deep as the nut is wide, making that the strongest point,I bet.
Bob was kind enough to autograph this guitar for me behind the headstock.

Re: Hallmark Owner's Corner!
That looks very nice. Can we see a picture of the neck that you spoke of?

Re: Hallmark Owner's Corner!
Let's see if this one comes out... This headstock profile, which is a replica of the Mark II neck, sort of reflects the Mosrite paranoia against neck-breakage and warp. Works for me.
