Semie's grandson, Dustin's guitar on eBay

Postby Sarah93003 » Wed Nov 11, 2009 1:05 am

If this is at all accurate I didn't think it appropriate to place it in the eBay section. Tonight I ran across this auction for a guitar that is supposedly made by Semie for his grandson Dustin. There is a long story and detail that goes with it, but in short they say Dustin's mom needed money and pawned it and now it's for sale. If this guitar is truly authentic it would be a shame to let something happen to it as I believe it should be preserved in some way and returned to the family if possible. Any ideas or more information on this one?

Yep, it's authentic. That one has been on and off eBay for years and collecting dust on Sunset Blvd. The seller is Vintage Gear Hollywood.

It kinda strikes me in a sad way to see something he made for a family member get sold like that. If there is ever a Mosrite museum it would belong there.

Oh yes it's real. Dennis do you remember this. Did Semie show this to you. I remember
seeing it at a time when Semie, Loretta, The Grand mothers, Dana, Brian and family
members were up at Jonas Ridge. I just don't remember when in that year.

Elaine,
No, unfortunately I never saw this guitar (let alone even know about it at the time :( ). I was only made aware of this guitar a few years back,
and then I proceeded to mix this one up with the 'grand daughter's version done in pink. Adam (dorkrockrecords) made me aware of the 'mix up'
on another thread about these. These guitars might of happened after we were there back in FEB of '88......
make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.

I TOLD THE FORUM I WOULD LOOK INTO THE DUSTIN'S GUITAR. I JUST GOT OFF THE
PHONE WITH DANA MOSELEY. SHE DID NOT PAWN THE GUITAR BECAUSE SHE NEEDED MONEY. DUSTIN SOLD IT HIMSELF. HERE WE GO AGAIN. SHE IS CONTACTING THE SELLER
TO CORRECT THE INCORRECT STORY.

DANA IS SEMIE'S DAUGHTER AND WAS ACTIVELY ENGAGED INTO WHAT HER DAD
WAS DOING. SHE IS A MASTER COIL WINDER AND MANY OTHER CHORES AROUND THE
SHOP. AS I WROTE IN AN EDITORIAL UNDER THE THREAD THE VISIT TO JONAS
RIDGE 2006-7. NOBODY IS TALKING TO FAMILY. EVEN THE AUTHOR'S OF SEVERAL
ARTICLES IN PAST AND RECENT YEARS. I CAN TELL THE FORUM HERE THAT WHEN DANA
GETS HERE IN DEC. AND WE ARE ALL TOGETHER, WE CERTAINLY ARE GOING TO DISCUSS
HOW THE HISTORY OF MOSRITE IS GOING TO BE REMEMBERED.
