No, the bridge cover is not shifted / it isn't sitting on top of the pickguard, there's a factory cutout on the pickguard (it's flush with the body). I've seen this on several '66 Mosrite basses and I'm not sure why. I assume it's because Semie was retooling for the double-pickup bass to become the 1966 standard (replacing the single pickup model - which become an option that year).

BTW, I’ll have to watch carefully in future not to confuse your signature picture with that of Dennisthe Menace’s, which we’ve all become so accustomed to here on the forum. I’ll bear in mind that yours has just a single neck… but with an extra complete body! :D :D :D

Welcome to the board chaz. That Sunburst six string is the quintesstial Mosrite, IMO.
