Hello there -
I'm really interested in a Pearl White Ventures-type model (though I don't love the Ventures sticker) and have heard enough people say the Japanese guitars are pretty darn good. I seem to be leaning towards KK over Fillmore despite the increased cost and towards a SuperCustom because of all the issues with the Excellents. Can anyone tell me roughly what an appropriate price for a SuperCustom '65 in pretty condition should be? Thanks!

You can't beat a Hallmark 60 Custom or 65 Custom, and they're way cheaper than the Japanese clones. I've owned a couple of the Japanese clones and my Hallmarks are at least as good, if not better.

Hallmark all the way. I bought the 60 Custom when they first came out and still play it today. Specks are ever so slightly different and a world better to play.

Yeah. Even with the specs slightly different, the Hallmark is still IMO the best "clone" out there. The Hallmark's neck is much more comfortable than a typical Mosrite neck but you can't tell by looking at it. It looks exactly like a Mosrite. It's visually the closest thing you'll find unless you get something custom hand built.
I have both. 65 Mosrite Ventures Mk1 and a Hallmark 60 Custom. I had the Hallmark first. I've always loved my Hallmark but it wasn't until I got the real Mosrite that I truly learned how great the Hallmark actually is.

You're still looking for one. You can buy mine off of me if you want. $800 plus shipping. Pearl White. You know which one I told you about that one in email with you.
Just kidding, I love my vintage 1971 better but I am not selling this one. It's too pretty and I don't need the money now so I am keeping it.
