Purchased An Excellent Mark I Did I Do Good or Bad?

Reason I ask is the price was very low. The seller states it's an Excellent Ventures Model but my concern is the neck plate is rectangular and all pictures of Excellent Mosrites I have seen have had the peanut shaped neckplate. Also price was $737 plus shipping. On Ishibashi English language webpage about a month ago I saw an Excellent for sale for about the same price so I wonder if this is the same one. I don't see it at Ishibashi anymore so not sure if it is the same but I suspect so. I checked Ishbashi about two weeks ago and it was gone so hard to say if it is the same. today I purchased it off eBay. It's sold out of Japan.

the back paint looks odd from the picture but if it is legit I could live with it.
hope this link works to the completed auction.

What do you think?

Thanks

Weird line on the back finish. I can be okay with cosmetic imperfections for this price as long as it's a good sounding player that is structurly fine and a real Excellent.

I checked the seller's other items for sale and he often puts the word "Excellent" in front of his items for sale like they are great guitars. So apparently the one I purchased is not a Kurokumo brand Excellent. It looks nice still so if it is a good sounding nice Mosrite of sorts then it will be worth it. Really curious who made it.

By the way he has some nice other items for sale.

Looks pretty cool regardless! If it's a nice player, rock it.

I can't wait to get it. I'm really curious how it is. I'll report back when I get it.

nice looking guitar. I seam to remember a Japanese company making them with a neck plate like that. Can't remember who it was. This getting old is a real drag sometimes.

Thanks for the reply. You know what, I bought a rake at Lowe's two days ago. Scanned it with my other items and paid. This was self checkout. The guy who helps you if you need assistance asked if I scanned the rake yet. I said yes and paid but because he asked me this, I got doubtful I did so I told him no I don't think so then I said no wait the receipt shows I already scanned and paid it. I'm 51 and this guy looked to be 72 and he said welcome to getting old, it only gets worse!

By the way this one almost reminds me of an Avenger but the truss rod adjustment should be at the headstock end for an Avenger and the neckplate should be rectangular with a point at the bottom end. This is a mystery. If i like it then I keep it otherwise at some point I could sell it.

The control knobs are not vintage Mosrite.
