Looks like they did a good job on it, The zero-fret and tiny fret markers being there. Why is the fretboard glued like this? Once, While constructing a guitar someone thought it may freeze up the truss rod since he did something like it:



How does it effect the truss-rod? Is that some sort of plastic between the rod and glue?
