Von Bergmann Guitars

Hey everyone,
Thought I would share a custom double neck I had built that would probably be of interest to people on this board.
The guitar was built by Mel Bergman of Von Bergmann Guitars in California. What we did was combine elements of classic California guitar builders Mosrite, Hallmark, Gruggett and Bigsby. The body was taken from a '62 Mosrite Combo. The top neck is a Bass VI. The pickups are Hallmark's "Deke Dickerson" pickups. You can see the Gruggett influence in the necks and headstocks as well as the other builder influences throughout.
Mel also has a great creative sense as well. He's really making some great guitars. The guitar plays and sounds great and is pretty versatile. Also...it's quite a head turner for guitar geeks and even any non-geeks at any of our gigs.
I use it my Honky Tonk band Big Tweed in Ventura, California. I do some Travis picking as well as "regular" flatpicking. We also have some country and surf style instrumentals. So, this guitar pretty much covers all the bases.
Some of you here probably know Mel already...but if you don't you should check out his guitars. I think they would be of interest to people on this board.
