Mystery guitar

I open this new thread about my recent acquisition (see the thread "Help! Firstman price range" for more info).

The problem: The seller claims that it is a Firstman Mosrite. Due to my (sometimes annoying) curiosity, I did some research and I ended up asking Mr. Kazy Firstman if he could date the guitar. He says it is not a Firstman Mosrite. This is the thread in the Firstman forum (in japanese, use google translator).

So we have a mystery here. I am sure that you people like challenges :)

These are the pictures:

The guitar sounds and looks good. In any case, I want to know what I've purchased (and compile information to demand accountability if necessary).

Any help is welcome!

Thanks in advance.

Firstman serial numbers start with FM. If yours isn't one of those, then it's an early Kurokumo. You can try contacting them too.

I've just sent an email to Kurokumo... let's see what happens.

No news... :(

I've been searching similar mosrite clones (ventures logo, no "from california", funny neck plate, M knobs, all chrome moseley bridge, serial number formed only by numbers ... ) in google images (japanese sites included). I have found a couple of quite similar (not equal) guitars, but the sites do not provide info about their factory and date.

Are there more opinions?

One more question: When you say "early kurokumo", what year is it?

What do you mean by "funny neckplate"? They're not supposed to be rectangular/square, the ones I've seen mostly look like this Image

I meant the curved neckplate, like the one in your picture.
