a little help to set up my Mosrite

Yeah, I've a Kurokumo excellent from England.
A mosriteforum member has sell his guitar to me and now I'm asking to you a little help to set up the guitar

As you see you'll notice a not original bridge pickup; this has little volume compared to neck pickup

So I've ordered a pair of Ed Elliot pickups to obtain a balanced sound

My question is:
1. what is the correct pickups height?

2. tremolo spring is really soft! Tremolo arm is going up and down with a really soft touch. I don't know if tremolo spring must be harder or not

Here's what I do:

First lower the Pickup height.
Push down the strings between the pickups and increase the height until they almost touch the strings.
I found this to be a good setup. YMMV! You can also simply play around with the height until you find the tone you desire.

Regarding the easy going whammy:
You can purchase new springs on ebay - also for heavy string gauges. These might tighten things up a little.

Hope this helps.

Cheers
Kilian

Congratulations on the Mosrite, Massimo!

I also like to keep the pickups as close to the strings as possible. Basically, I set the bridge pickup as high as it goes without touching the strings, and then adjust the neck pickup to balance it.

As for the vibrato, vintage Mosrites have a very light touch to the vibrato. Personally, I like it, but if you don't, there are different springs available on eBay as Sancho said.

Good luck!

Bob Shade can hook you up with the spring! I play with 11 gauge strings. The pickup height should be as close to the strings as you can, but I think it is personal preference. good luck!

:D thank you very much for your help!
First of all I'll set height pickups with new Thomastik flatwound strings, after mounting Ed Elliot pickups.

About spring tremolo I'll waiting for a while, I'm not sure to change it
