Greetings!

I've owned several vintage Mosrites over the years-- I love the tone, look, vibrato. In the end, I get rid of them because I find then necks too skinny and slim.

The clones (Hallmark, Wilson, et al.) look wonderful and sound great (from what I hear on YouTube). Do any of the clones have a fuller neck profile and/or wider nut?

Practically all of the clones have a wider neck - seems that this is one of the style designs that is most modified on the Mosrite clones ...

Hallmarks are a little wider & keep it the closest sounding to the original Mosrite. If you're looking for a close, go get the Hallmark 60 Custom.

Hallmark has a 1 5/8" X 3/4" neck the frets are slightly taller and has the sound and looks. I also have owned a few Original Mosrites and have sold them for the same reason . The other guitars don't sound like Mosrite because they use P90 type pickup.


You could check them out but you'll end up buying a Hallmark.

The only guitar other than a Mosrite (modern included) I'd buy is a Hallmark. I really love mine. f I had the guac (kids lingo for money) I'd get that swet '59 custom.

I suggest you check that one out too, on top of the other I recommended.

They keep their value very well when I was looking for a used one they went for about a $ 100-150 less than new . I just finaly called Bob Shade and order mine. I haven't seen a used one for a long time.

Yep, pretty rare to see someone selling their Hallmark.

I have played many Mosrites over the years and find the Custom 60 to be the culmination of all that I was looking for with just enough more meat to the neck to make it a pure joy to play. I can sit for hours with this guitar (and it's about that time) and never feel a minute of fatigue in either my fingers or wrists. And the sounds that it delivers make you want to play all night. OK, I'm crazy about this guitar and will never make the mistake, as I have many times in the past, of parting with it.
According to my measurements, the string spacing at the nut is only 1/16" wider that the average Mosrite, so it's really as close to the real thing as I would feel comfortable with. For me, the Hallmark was developed just in time. Where was Mr. Shade all my life?
