Howdy, folks. So I "accidentally" won this gal on eBay. It's one of the Fullerton hardtail clones (Fullerton MoVibe HH).


I'm a fan of cheap, disposable guitars so the price was right. What can I expect from it? Anyone have any experience with these?

Nah, I just won it tonight. It'll be a week or two before I get it. Anticipation...it's a killer.

let us know how it turns out. on cheaper guitars today one common approach is to make the package look great on the outside, but go cheap on the electronics on the inside. I'm not saying this is the case with this guitar, but just so you know if it sounded bad, you could look to see to upgrade the electronics as a possible solution.
It's quite amazing how better a guitar will sound by throwing in a little money in quality electronics. I've done this on several low end guitar for customers and myself, and been pleased with the results. squier fenders are a classic example. of course the guitar may play great as it is! my first rule working on any guitar is always "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". hope you enjoy your new toy, it looks beautiful by the way.

I had one exactly like this last year and I quite liked it. I thought it played and sounded pretty good and had no problems with it. Unfortunately I was out of work for a while and I decided to sell it, but As far as inexpensive Mosrite style guitars go I think these do the job nicely.

that's cool, mosman how do you think the humbuckers compared to a mosrite pickup?

After comparing it to my Excellent 65 and Super Custom 64 I can say that the pickups had more humbucker grunt than a Mosrite . It was a good compromise if you're after a tougher sounding guitar but with Mosrite's cool looks.

I agree about the sub par electronics. I've found that on a bunch of Fenders that I've owned.
I'm considering winding a custom humbucker for the neck and throwing the single coils from my '74 Mustang in the bridge. That's all subject to change, though. I rarely keep a guitar long enough to make such modifications.


Mosman, that's pretty much what I'm going for. I love classic looking guitars with a little something extra under the hood. So do you know what yours was constructed of? I read that they've got mahogany bodies but I can't find any real specs.
