Distance between rollerbridge and vibrato?

Postby Olav » Tue Jun 01, 2010 12:31 pm

Sorry for cross posting  Might not even be in appropriate forum...
Can anyone of you do a bit of quick measuring for me?
I need the distance between the centre of the rollerbridge and the stringanchor on the vibrato piece on a Mosrite.
Some unexpected difference in stringspacing is making Oigun think my guitar might have some string derailing issues.
Thanks for a quick answer guys and gals!

From the center of the 'bridge post' (which is exactly center of the bridge) to the center of 'bearings' of the tail piece is 2 3/4 inches.

can you explain why you may be having string derailing issues?

Initially I think it was to do with the difference in stringspacing and him being 'afraid' the strings would run out of the rollers when pressing on the vibrato quite hard (divebombing) so that tension is real low. No problems so far though and Matt at M3 assured me he'd fix the problem if it occurred.
Now that I think about it, the lower string tension wouldn't cause the string to derail would it?
Hmmmmmm...
