I'd like to hear some first hand experiance from yooz guys that own this guitar. I see them pop up from time to time & it looks nice. I also know that looks can be deceiving. My very first guitar was a Fender knock off. Looked great...played lousy.
What are the pickups like? does it stay in tune like the Mosrites? Does it sound like Johnny's, or is it like his guitar in asthetics only

I'd say its mostly aesthetics. The body is different wood, and its heavier than my MIJs. The play didnt feel right either, and the bridge pickup is definitely not a DiMarzio FS-1, nor is the neck pup a Seymour Duncan. They sounded different from my JR Signature mosrite. Bridge pup was noisy and fuzzy. Neck pickup was dull. It stayed in tune OK but the action was a lot higher than on the JR signature. And the bridge wasnt of great quality on my friend's JR Elite. I'd say you'd be better off with Filmmore MK II deluxe, which is the same guitar as the JR Signature that was discontinued when Johnny died.
In answer to your question does it sound like John's, depends on what time perioid you want. '75-'79, definitely not. Wrong pickups. 80-83 if you have a JMP MK II it comes around there somewhere but its noisier since its not a real FS-1. 84-96 if you have JCM800 same story. As I said before, the pup is noisier so you'd have to change it and I'd change the bridge aswell. My friend changed it to a gibson tune-o-matic which fit right into the old holes.

Very cool, Johnny...thanks.
I have a Sheena model on order from Hallmark. I'm looking forward to getting that baby & give her a good playing. I was just wondering that, @ $450ish, is is worth the moola.

I think the price says enough on this case.

It's cool you hav a sheena on order. Anxiously looking forward to hearing and seeing it in action. Play some ramo-tunes on it and put on youtube! You thinking of getting a trem aswell?

Yes, Eastwood JR Elite. They pretty much nailed the blue color though.

The second one is my friend's guitar i was talkign about earlier. I know woodyamsterdam, who I'll be calling Martin from now on. He has changed the bridge and the bridge pickup and a fretjob.
And the way that eastwood guy is playing ramones is making me sick to my stomach...

yeah.... these guys are rank amateurs when it comes to playing like the Ramones. Playing to the Ramones is more tiring then going to the gym and working out, if you play right
by the way, Johnny Ramone once said, if you play loud enough every guitar sounds the same

so maybe they just need 3 Marshall stacks instead hehehehe.
