Ed Roman's super discounted price is $2795. For that price you could book yourself a nice vacation to Japan, pick up a Gospel, save a couple bucks and have a much more enjoyable time than a phone call with Ed Roman.

.
...must be on account of shifted string guides

It's a pretty killer guitar. I don't I'd come close to buying it at that price, though. Now if it were a vintage Gospel......can I hear an AMEN!

AMEN! Yes, I'd buy a vintage Gospel for $2800, Especially an 80s Gospel with humbuckers!

I wouldn't go so far as to say questionable workmanship. A drop of glue would fix that loose string guide. The guide on my Excellent was loose when I got it too. More to the point, there's not an attention to detail in the setup that one would reasonable expect from a guitar in that price range.
