My Tym Guitars

Postby rynaro » Fri Apr 17, 2009 2:50 am

Hey guys a few of you have asked to see my Tym guitars ...

Ok the Sweeping Wing Jnr or SweepWing Jr ... not sure of the official name. I call it Sweepy :-) i love the murph trem unit and the wood dot markers, the neck is very thin and feels great! this is a prototype/custom guitar that to my knowledge there are no others. this is my fav guitar ever it feels great to play and has an amazing weight balance between neck and body which is rare. the pickup is very hot and i have to roll it back cause it overdrives some amps :-D

The Vibratone Is a prototype, based on tim's favourite guitar the fender jagstang which he flipped in true semie style to create the shape. all production models did not have a german carve or a strat headstock or strat trem... this is very unique and very unlike tym's style.
the neck is thicker than a mosrite but thinner than a fender tele neck. i have a few chips in it now and i think the original colour was sonic blue. it has a strat trem, 2way pickup switch and a volume (what more do you need?) the feel of this guitar is great!!! it plays like .. like .. butter (for a lack of a better word)
The interesting part is that tim was putting serial number stickers on the back of headstocks in the early guitars. the Sn is A0015 but the sticker reads T0015.

I hope this helps and i hope this inspires other tym guitar owners to post pics too

Nice! I guess you bought directly from Tym in Australia. Are there any dealers in the US?

Hi desert surfer, there are no dealers as such but I know tim ships his guitars worldwide. I got mine direct from tim. Although keep an eye out on his website, he makes guitars then puts them up for sale on his "custom" section of the website. There is a nice versatone that I am lusting over but could never afford.
