Cheers Danny, if the simple and fast solution won't solve the buzzing then I've got to try yours.

First rehearsal with the Excellent yesterday. Here it is:
The pics are a bit dark, I know......well, it's a bloody nice sounding guitar. Those Mosrite pups really are what makes the sound so special. So easy to play fast on it also. It's gonna take me a little time to get used to 10s on it.
The neck on the '64/'65 Mustang (first pic) is superb. The neck on the Mosrite also feels very good but just a tad to new . I'm pretty impressed with the vibro-system but then again, I love Bigsbys.

Re: Ok guys, I finally bought one! Mosrite Excellent.
Just an update on my Excellent as well as a question to other Excellent owners. That darn D-string kept buzzing due the string barrel not being stable. Brought it in for a pro-set up and the vibro had to be taken apart to get it fixed in the same way as Danny has suggested in this thread. 10s back on and action set for my likings. darn it's cool to play now. Except....now the G-string barrel is loose....will get that fixed tomorrow but I'm starting to think now that maybe I should just get all the barrels fixed right away as this seems to be an issue with this guitar.
Any other Excellent owners who has had these problems?

There's definitely an issue with those string barrels. My latest one has the same problem with the G string. I thought I'd fixed it but now I find it's still wonky. A friend of mine had one a few years back and it was the same.
It's a shame as they're otherwise beautiful guitars.

Congratulations Lars!
Yes, I have the buzz prob on the G-saddle on my Excellent as well. I'd like to know how folks are fixing it. Currently I have a rubberband hugging the G and D barrels and that has stopped the buzz. The band is not pulling on the barrels such that they are no longer normal to the face of the guitar. It's holding on just enough to stop the buzz but it is a Mickey Mouse solution.
I like the Excellent a lot because it is lighter weight than any of my other original and reissue or copy Mosrites. In A/B tests, I can't tell the diff in sound with the others either though some have higher output pickups.

It's now in for 'repair'. I'll let you know how it turns out.
Marty, the trick is to support the barrel by installing a tiny piece of material underneath it. That way it won't rock in any direction which is why your rubberband solution also may work.
