Question about Loretta's lawsuit

The big difference I have noticed is my Hallmark stays in tune if I use the vibrato. Both of my Dana Moseley Mosrite Originals(I have 2) go out of tune if I use the vibrato.

This, I don't understand. I have a Dana Moseley Mosrite and mine also goes out of tune when using the vibrato, but my former Fillmore Mosrite did not. In fact, it stayed in tune for weeks at a time. Still, I love the sound and playability of my Dana Mosrite and would never consider trading it for any other guitar. The neck is similar to my former, but for some reason, it just feels better.

My guess would be the issue is the string guide at the nut. My partsrite wouldn't stay in tune and I couldn't for the life of me figure out why. Finally I bought a vintage string guide on ebay and the problem disappeared.

Hey guy's! I normally do not chime in on issues of a competitive nature, however, I would like to comment on the statement that somehow since our guitars are made in a extremely high quality Korea factory as opposed to a supposed better Japanese factory, somehow the quality is not as good. This is ludicrous!

That is a statement that is an assumed fact. The truth is, is that our factory used to be in Japan too, and has moved to be more competitive. We work very closely with our factory to insure every guitar is as high quality as it can possibly be. Has anyone toured both factories? I think this forum should be about letting the consumer decide which guitar is of higher quality and value and let the competitors be less opinionated and let the chips fall where they may.

We offer guitars that we feel rival any guitar on the market today, and as well, we have countless letters from our customers thanking us for our high quality products and most are of the opinion that our prices should be higher for the quality we produce, and are extremely satisfied with the performance, feel, look and tone.

As well, our guitars feature real USA parts made by Hallmark with the high end necks and bodies from our factory built to our exacting specifications. The customer in return gets the best of both worlds, quality, performance and value for their hard earned money.

So, simply stating Japan is better than Korea is an insufficient comparison. We have had numerous guys that won't pick up their Japanese Gretsch, and other guitars now after having purchasing a Deke Dickerson and other models from Hallmark Guitars.

As far as manufacturer's place of origin is concerned, I would like to point out that I don't see any Korean mfg. cars speeding down the road that can't stop at 95 mph. Thats my point.

No one is questioning the quality of your guitars. In addition to being a great value for the money, they stand up as quality guitars on their own.

I wasn't aware that there are USA made parts on the standard series Hallmarks. What parts are made where? I assume that the bodies and necks are fabricated in Korea, the binding and neck set are done there, the frets are installed there, and the finish is applied there. Is that correct? What about the hardware? Is it all installed in Korea or all in the USA, or some combination thereof? How does it work for custom paint jobs? Do those come from the factory without a finish, or do you strip the factory finish and respray, or do you paint over the factory finish?

Personally, I don't think you have anything to hide or be ashamed of, and a lot to be proud of. However and whereever you are making the guitars, the end results speaks for itself.

There may be no end to a debate like this. I think that we all recognize a quality instrument when we see it, and we are all going to have our favorites. Personally, I don't care where any given part of a guitar is produced or who installs it as long as the finished product is what I'm looking for. In this case, for me, the Hallmark hit a solid bulls eye. Enough said.

I am the owner of 3 vintage Mosrites, 2 Fillmores & 1 Hallmark. Personally speaking, my Ranger, of all things, is my favorite to play. But as far as quality, sound, playability, etc, that Hallmark Sheena model can stand up to the best of them. & from what I've read, the Sheena is not Hallmarks high end guitar. I'd love to have that 59 Custom from Hallmark. Someday.

Anywho, I love my Sheena; Korea or no Korea.

Don, I totally agree with you.......I'd be playing a Hallmark custom 60 right now if we didn't have to spring for a car....but I think I'd have trouble convincing my wife that the guitar is more important than struggling along with an old clunker, lol....
But.......it shouldn't be long now.......hopefully Bob will have a nice pearl white custom 60 waiting for me.......

Hi guys, I was under the imperssion that Hallmark's were all made in the U.S. but I guess I was wrong. I guess I wounder why they are not. As far as the law suit deal I think it's dead in the water. The reason for that belif is if Loretta sold the coppy rights to some one else they own it. If Loretta is produceing this guitar in a foreign country, and has changed it in any way, just one little thing, she's home free, she can make a zillion of these if she wants.If Loretta still has the name of Mosley she can call it Mosrite, unless she sold the name Mosrite, then I guess the company that bought the coppy rites owns Loretta also. As far as Danna goes, I look at it like this," the apple does not fall far from the tree, and Blood is thicker than water". This will probably never be settled in court of law, because the one with the most money always wins, they will just tie it up in court untill Loretta Mosley passes away then they win.
