Here's some of my family.
Nice family you have! Is the middle one Kurokumo? The other two Fillmore? Just my guess.

Re: No return ....?
I don't really know the manufacturers of each guitar. We have a distribution company here called Lamberti who started importing Japanese Mosrites a few years ago, and while most shops don't stock them, you can order them through the Lamberti catalogue if they have it.
I do know however that there are some minor differences between the various Ex 65's.
My red 65 is the only one I've seen that doesn't have 'Mosrite' stamped into the neck-plate and it also doesn't have 'Mosrite' stamped tuners as all the others that I've seen have had.
I once had a sunburst Ex 65 that had the neck binding end flush with the nut, but the ones we get here now all have the binding go past the nut and beging to follow the downward curve of the headstock just like my US 71 Mosrite. Also the sunburst was the onlyEx 65 I've seen with a serial number.
Regardless, I love 'em all and it keeps things interesting eh?

Re: No return ....?
Hey Mosman,
Is the back of the neck on your black '71 painted black or is it natural and clear coated?
I have a '66 that is all black but the neck was stripped and clear coated natural. It looks alright but it not original to the guitar. Actually the entire guitar was refinished in black before I acquired it. I just haven't decided whether to keep it black or go with a sunburst refin (again).

Restore to the original finish..that's my vote.

She's black all over, but I have to say I do prefer natural finish necks with a coloured body.It makes a nice contrast I reckon, but I'll take 'em either way.
