Re: Another clone. Lowell
Anyway of combining the two threads on this one? I wrote some similar comments yesterday in the other thread. Anyway, yes, that seller is a piece of work. I mailed them once asking about that Airline (correction, yesterday I said Supro accidentally), anyway, it took two days for them to mail me only to say "their luthier" was going to have to get back to me after taking measurements. My question was nothing specific enough to require measurements. After hearing nothing for a few days I mailed them again, never heard back. I seriously wonder how they have such positive feedback. On the other hand, the guy who makes those guitars makes some quality stuff and I'm sure he wouldn't be selling them for even half that price.

Agreed. It is much easier to read with one thread.
Here is a good buy from the Luthier, not the other seller:
Lowell Walnut body SG: $745

A similar guitar made by the luthier Lowell (with better trim and gold hardware, but still...) is selling by the other seller at more than 5 times of the price:
Black Walnut body SG: $3795

YIKES! That's ridiculous! I wonder why that seller has so much of his stuff? Also, I noticed some jerk left him a negative feedback over roughly 2 bucks on shipping, lame. That guy was great with communication and I think he undercharged me for shipping, go figure.

Re: Another clone. Lowell
man, you guys are beating up this guy a lot. personally my feeling is if you don't want to buy them then just don't. That custom looking SG is awesome though. the quality looks amazing, and I would say that 3 grand is probably a fair price for it.
I remember the lowell mosrite copies sold on ebay a few years ago. from what i remember they were being sold unfinished.

I think we are just a little suprised at the amount that they are on sale for as compared to other Mosrite clones & even Mosrites. You're right, we've (at least I've) never played one, but I've played the real deal that cost a grand less.
Also, that paragraph in his description about not writing him about his prices is kinda funny.

Re: Another clone. Lowell
My beating is more over their lack of communication from when I tried to ask about something. They're obviously in no rush to sell something, kinda like Guitar Center in NYC. Talk about high prices on used guitars, and half of them are labeled wrong at that store.

Re: Another clone. Lowell
well I understand the frustration then. Getting good info from someone at guitar center, is like getting sound mechanic advice from some snot nose kid that works at jiffy lube. Chances are are good that they don't know s*** or they are full of s***. But that's just my humble opinion.

Cheers,
Aaron

Re: Another clone. Lowell
Looks like they dropped the price by about 2 grand. On the other hand, they re-listed the Airline for a grand more. I think someone is off their rocker over there.

Now they're $1,231.67 each...still $232.67 ore than a Hallmark Custom '60.
