Yeah, that's the one, from Action Music. Here's the link http://www.gbase.com/Stores/Gear/GearDetails.aspx?Item=2050513 and details if anyone's wanting to pick it up. They have it listed for $1650.00, not bad unless that's inaccurate.

Re: 50th Anniversary Mosrites from Fillmore
Hello to all,
my bandmate has a fillmore 50th anniversary in red sparkle. I can hardly play it, cause of the narrow fretboard (big hands), but I think the sound is great !

Re: 50th Anniversary Mosrites from Fillmore
I've got a Fillmore Ranger 65 and its a great guitar, as well made as my Excellent 65 and sound wise its hard to pick the difference.
The two differences i find are the tremelo units and the weight.
The Vibramute on the Ranger 65 much better than the standard trem on the Excellent, which even after lots of work, a complete re-build, bridge adjustment, work on the nut etc is still not as good as the Vibramute.
(The guitar tech who did work on both of these also has a Excellent 65 and his trem works perfectly)
The body of the Ranger 65 is slightly bigger and much heavier than the Excellent, maybe by 25-30%, the Excellent feels better balanced.
Both guitars are as well made as any US guitar i've had in the last 30 years, never owned a real Mosrite though!
If i had to choose between them i'd say the Excellent 65 but only by a whisker.

Its a Kurokumo, I got it new from a shop in Sydney, there is a distributor in Melbourne, cost me $1200AU, about $800US.
The Ranger i got via a friend in Tokyo for about the same price.

Re: 50th Anniversary Mosrites from Fillmore
the one thing that set me off was I thought the guitar looked slightly smaller then my semie made pieces. this guitar was certainly lighter then the american equivalent. that's using the metric system to make guitar I guess.
the price was for 1650 i believe, which is a good price considering that they originally went for over 3 grand, but the quality to me makes it worth more like 700 or so, sad to say.
I think eddy's guitars are WAY better made.

Re: 50th Anniversary Mosrites from Fillmore
I bought one of those sparkle blue beautys from Ed Roman when they first came out. Check out the first pic. on the "CLONE WARS" post. Yes, the flimsy tremolo arm was annoying. I replaced it with an arm from Hallmark Guitars. The arm from their 60s Custom is a great fit. Had to do a little drilling, but it looks much better with a beefier arm. I also threw a fat rubber grommet under it, to keep it tight in any position. I've heard all the rumblings over the years about the Fillmore & Ed Roman, but being a novice player with a little mechanical aptitude, I'm quite happy with my sparkle blue beauty.
I was wondering about that pickgaurd. Is the slight overhang at the bottom not common? I've never held a real Mosrite or clones up until I bought mine. I live in Virginia, a virtual Mosrite-free zone.

hey Eric,
awesome area, I love that place, norfolk too. people aren't so uptight like they are in northern virginia. up here, it's rare for me to find a good mosrite, or any mosrite for that matter, but I'll find them if I look enough. usually the best mosrites I find (quality+good price) is on ebay.
