I'd better check that tonight. Thanks! I'll hold the post while I turn the key and see what happens. I'm kind of remembering that I already tried this, but I can't say for sure. So, I'd best try it again! If it turns out that the post isn't turning and I need to buy a new tuner, it's good to know that they're somewhat interchangeable. Thanks again!

I agree with Dub, I would try putting a punch into the string hole and then try turning it. If you could stop it with your fingers, I'm sure you couldn't tune the string at all.
I also had a string that did similar to me, as I tuned it, it worked for a while, then went out of tune. What was happening was, the string was unwinding at the bridge end and eventually just popped off the ring.
