when were the different models (Excellent, Super Excellent, Roayl 63, etc) made?

From what I understand, they are different models offering "improved features" as you move up the line. The Excellent is the least expensive with the Excellent vibrato and bridge, the Super Excellent has better hardware (Vibromute and roller bridge) and the occasional extra appointments to the finish (ie. sunburst headstocks, etc.) The Excellents (both models) are made of basswood with polyurethane finishes. The Super Custom has the better hardware, higher output pickups, and the bodies are made of alder with poly finishes, the Royal 63 is a clone of the original side jack with binding, alder body with nitrocellulose finish and high output pickups used exclusive to the model.
This is the best I've been able to figure out, but there may be other differences as well. The bodies are slightly smaller than "real" Mosrites ??? so I've heard, but don't know if it is true.

Do you know which version it is? The specifications sound very much like in the Kurokumo I have. I got mine used, so unfortunately I don't know exactly when it was made.

I must say, however, that it is one great guitar. I like it even more than my Ranger.
This concludes my report from outer space. Now, back to studio!

what time frame did the guitars have the Ventures logo on the headstock?

The Excellent I had, with Ventures logo, no serial number and smooth pickup covers was sold to me as a 2000 model. The guitar also had 250K pots.

Interesting ... mine has an excellent trem, SN #6053, ventures logo in a lovely pearl white w/tortiseshell pickguard... i would guess mine as 90's .... sounds like yours is before mine if it goes numerically but yours is a different series because of the mosely trem meaning the serial like on real mosrites are all over the place.
