I don't know if this article has popped up here before. I stumbled upon it today and found it to be an interesting read. According to this article Mosrite made the first "fuzz" pedal that became so popular in the 1960's.

I really don't know when the first Fuzzrites were made, but I think that the Gibson Fuzz Tone predated it by a few years. I think that the original FZ-1 Fuzz Tones were made in 1962.
