is the 800 50W or 100W?
It is tempting. Maybe not right now but your first in line if it goes away.
IC is very cool.
I regret not the things i have done, but the gear i did not buy.

The Marshall is 100 watt 2 channel with spring reverb (which sounds great).
I don't blame you for wanting to keep the 400 in the stable for a while, it's so cool!
As a fellow Iowan/Mosrite lover please give me a heads up if you want to move it, cash or trade. I'll put it on stage 3 time s a month. Congrats great find.

Scot,
Any chance there's a schematic for the 400?

Shame. It would be cool to know what makes them tick.

Cool amp! Regarding the ground switch--it's actually a polarity switch. Most US-made amps built before the mid-'70's had them--back in the days before 3-prong grounded AC outlets were mandatory, pro and semi-pro gear used ground switches to ostensibly prevent electrocution! They were either 2-position switches for positive or negative ground, or three-position with the middle position being power off--there was no ground lift. You'd use whichever position had the least hum, and hope that everybody had theirs set right, and the outlets were grounded correctly (not always a given!) I can't count the times I've been bitten by a vocal mic plugged into a PA that was grounded differently from my guitar amp. Back in the old days, we used to test for grounding problems by lightly touching the guitar strings while gingerly reaching over with a finger to tap the mic, being ready to pull the finger back at the first sign of a shock or a spark--I've been singed on the lip many a time.
Three-prong outlets are mandatory here in the US now, so they don't use ground switches on stuff anymore, but even the three-prongers aren't always wired properly. There used to be a club in Napa, CA that had one outlet wired backwards from the others--plug into that one and you were taking your life in your hands!

Wow, I just noticed it has all those M-hat knobs. Very much fun!! Does anyone know what year this one came out? I know the Ventures were anxious for Semie to put out a Mosrite amp but he dragged his heals so they had the Award company build one that showed up in '66 or '67. I'm guessing this one followed shortly.

Not to highjack the thread, but the one I have has a Jensen speaker dated the 43rd week of 1966

I'm a-thinking not much later than '67 were these Mosrite amps made.
