I've got a few Mosrite amps, but I have only heard about these!
What a cool find.
Howard changed his name to Alexander when he turned 40.
He is in Bakersfield, the last I heard, and hiding out where no one can find him.

I'm curious, which "Mosrite" contacted you? I've been trying to find out who the real "mosrite" is, now. :?

Have them come to you and get the documentation. What difference does it make where the unit is?

If Mosrite really is that interested I'd want to keep it at a business level with a signed agreement by both parties. Your own demands and stipulations can be made clear and open to one interpretation only. I agree with what gplayer says; have them come to you -and they will if they're that keen.

Get a lawyer or some type of legal advise if it comes to that. Don't want to sound pessimistic but where possible (big) money is involved, one needs to tread carefully and wisely.

It must be an exciting prospect though, to be part of a possible new line of Mosrite amps but whatever you decide, don't go this thing alone. Good luck and hopefully you'll be embarking upon that adventure of your dream.

First, a quick caveat. I'm a fresh face on the forum so what do I know? So, having said that, here's my thought on it.

You might want to look long and hard at the amp and decide whether it's worth all the fuss. If it is—if it's worth the fuss of people making a big deal of it outside this circle of Mosrite friends and Bakersfield addicts—you might need to give up some control in order to see how far it goes.

The rub is this. The people who are going to verify and appraise and consecrate this amp won't be looking at it so much as your discovery, they'll be looking at it as their own discovery.

If it were me and I agreed that it was worth the scrutiny and excitement, I would insist on the other parties providing an initial appraisal that you could substantiate a healthy insurance policy against loss, damage, etc.

After insuring it, I would insist that protocols exist for the period of time that it is out of your hands—protocols defining where it will be, who will be responsible for it and by what means it will get from one place to another.

And then you place it in the care of the people who think it's so important with the knowledge that you've protected yourself and made accommodations for the object itself.

Good luck!

Man. I think y'all are way over thinking a simple act.You already call this a Dumble amp. What if its not. They probably just want to see the darn thing.
