1969 Mosrite GB-1000 amp

Postby heavenbound1 » Sat May 08, 2010 9:54 pm

I aquired this Mosrite GB-1000 amp recently. I am trying to get info on it. I read somewhere that there were only 19 of these made. Does this have collector value? What is it worth, who is looking for these?

Well at least it has the original speaker and the horn still in it.I thinkThomas organ's made this and Vox amps at the same time just Mosrite had 2 15" JBL's and Vox's had 12"bulldogs.

Don't own one and never had one in my presence but I have read that they had a high failure rate due to some corners cut in the design. Have you fired it up? Didn't they come with a frame to hold it, a la the Vox Buckingham and Superbeatle?

Yes it works. I did see a stand for these in the Ventures book listed on this site. You can see the places on the side of the amp for the stand to attach.

I have 2 of the horns from these amps. A friend of mine got a hold of 2 cabinets without the amps in them and took the JBL's and horns. I guess that the amps were sent back for repair and never returned.
