Original 1965 Mark 1 Tuners

Postby Picure » Mon Apr 06, 2020 8:49 am

Hello guys, long time no post here. I would like to ask, what kind of tuners did the original 1965 Mark 1s have? Because I want to replace the tuners on my Kurokumo Mosrite and the tuners that they have has "Mosrite" written on them. I was wondering if the original Mosrites back in 1965 had this feature.

thanks!

My 65 Mk 1 has Kluson Deluxe tuners with metal bean buttons.

As far as I know they're the original tuners and are consistent with other Mk 1 tuners.

I have a Mark1 66 Ventures model (although 1 date stamp is late 65) sunburst ,truss adj at the heel end..all original.
They came equipped with Kluson Deluxe tuners....Am pretty sure all Mark1s were so equipped.

Yes; Kluson Deluxes just like in the pic. I replaced the tuners on my '65 with new exact replacements, as they are better tuners, but keep the originals safely in a bag.

The general exception to 60s Mosrites having Klusons is if you have a Bass, in which case, they were Mosrite tuners. These have Mini Headstock Knobs, which are a bit prone to breaking.
