Identify this '60s Mosrite THE VENTURES model guitar

I've never seen another Mosrite guitar such as the one on ebay now (URL below). It's a standard looking guitar but the back has a round cover with slots and inside is a speaker and an ON/OFF rocker switch (I'm guessing) and the neckplate is rectangular. Looking at the front for a speaker grille or port I noticed that the bottom pickup is not an actual pickup, it looks like the speaker vent. Also look at the nut, it has been moved toward the tuners.

As usual, I look forward to your informative replies.

Located in Japan, rectangular neck plate... It's 99.99% likely to be a Japanese copy, I couldn't tell you when it was made though; Japan's full of Mosrite clones. I've never seen this kind before and I don't know if it was like that from the factory or if it was modified later. The string guide was probably just knocked out of place and is now in need of being re-glued.
