Sarah, thanks for the information. I just purchased off eBay a vintage '60s Mosrite tip. It looks convincingly real so I think it's true vintage. I hope it fits. It should fit since they are standard but that's if the original switch is vintage. I didn't see pics of the insides before I got it and didn't take it apart. The white switch tip looks actually pretty good with the white pickguard but I wanna keep it authentic, oh play authentic is Gibsons thing! But I want to try to keep it vintage if I can. If I ever sold the guitar, which I don't have plans, but if I ever sold it I'd disclose it's a vintage pickup selector tip but put on afterwards.

The Celebrities came with Switchcraft switches and I would guess that was pretty standard. Ebay is a good source for parts and unless they said it was an aftermarket tip then it would be the correct one.

Sarah, thanks for the info. The vintage tip came in the mail the other day and I tried it on the guitar and it worked. So now officially my Mark V is all original. Well, not really but it's all original as far as I can say with the addition to a vintage selector tip. So now it looks like it should.

Very nice. I don't think putting a period correct component on a guitar makes it not original. just the opposite.

Come to think of it that's true what you say because just say the tip on the selector was a vintage type when I bought it, I'd think it was original because how would I know if someone replaced it with a period correct one or that was always on there. So true what you said it's all original. I actually didn't mind the white plastic one, it was sort of aged, but with the vintage correct metal selector switch it looks really cool now. I mean looked cool before but looks even more now.
