Yea. I was wondering if this was a "fixed up for TV" production model, or something Semi made as a one- off for Larry to help lighten the load on songs not needing an octave neck.

Believe it or not friends, Larry just got that guitar back after 40+ years of it disappearing with a friend of his! He told me about it recently and I am going to get some pics of it next time I visit him. He told me that was a model that he designed himself, that Semie built it but Larry did a lot of the grunt work, while Semie was living in Granada Hills (which was only a few miles away from Van Nuys, where the Collins' lived). Hope to have some pics of that guitar soon.

I honestly reckon that's the best music clip I've ever seen.
Larry Collins ... the master.
Bill.

Dang! He makes me tired just watching him - I need a nap. Great stuff! Glad he got that axe back. Any update, Deke?

Watched some of the other clips too! Real gems they are; landsakes, how these energetic kids express the lust for life is most pleasing!

(If movements like that young lil Larry didn't inspire the Punk trend, then I don't know what did, eh Bill?!)

Hello,
Deke does have some pictures of this one of a kind guitar that Larry refers to as the "LarriCo" (it would seam more likely to be the LarriMo. Maybe I missunderstood). I was fortunate to get this guitar a couple of months ago from Larry to do a mild restoration on it. It is a rare jewel for sure. The head was nearly broken off and a few parts were missing. I'm not going to do much more than replace the missing parts; a Gibson L-7 tailpiece and a Bigsby "bowtie" bridge and clean off the 50+ years of dirt and grime. The head connection has been repaired and I've put out feelers for the parts needed. The bridge is easy but a tailpiece hasn't shown up yet. One of the surprising things was that the pickguard and armrest were made from the same material as the Super 400's of the era. Some rare stuff. Some other stats: 23" scale and fingerboard radius about 6 1/2"
We'll see about getting some pictures up.
-Terry
