Mark 1 versus Mark V Sound Differences?

Postby poppyg » Tue May 30, 2017 1:34 pm

Before dipping my toe into the Mosrite pool, could some of you experts chime in as to sound differences (if any) between the two models.
Also, if you could enlighten me as to any other differences (other than cosmetic) to be aware of. Much Thanks in Advance

I may not have a Ventures model but 3 differences I can tell you are these:

1: Neck Pickup Angle; It's angled on a Ventures/MK I model and is straight on the Ventures II German Carve/MK V models. Pickup position effects tone though off the top of my head I don't recall how.

2: Neck; It's easier to solo high on the neck with a Ventures model than a MK V.

3: Pickup Screws and lack thereof; You can adjust screws for balanced volume output on the Ventures models and can't on a MK V with stock pickups.

I'm not sure what else there is, both models should use 500k Potentiometers.
