I bought a 1967 Ventures model Mosrite from Guitar Center. I don't fully trust their vintage guitar staff to be able to say for sure it's the real deal. I don't believe they are knowledgeable enough with Mosrites to be able to spot a Japanese or other replica thats being passed off as a real one. So I call on you.
It is on the way, so I can't take nice pics of it myself until 4 or 5 days, but here is the ad with not very good pics:

Any red flags? Please let me know!

Dennis, thank you for your input!
Nope, no case unfortunately.
I will be taking it to Norms Rare Guitars, and have them look at it and make sure its okay.
If it is, I will go on a mission to get the right case for it.
Really hope it works out. This is my dream guitar, the one. I've wanted a ventures mosrite for approximately 20 years now.
I sold my 1966 Mosrite Celebrity, and another very cool guitar, to make this happen.

Shouldn't the serial # start with B ?

I hope a knowledgeable person can answer this.
One other thing, is the red finish looks a little dark, almost burgundy. Doesn't look like candy apple red. Did Mosrite make both CAR and a regular red finish? It could be the poor quality photos.
Also the employee made a remark, that the pickguard, on the very bottom right portion, near the input jack, he says it hangs off the body a little bit. And he remarked that it looked quite new and unplayed, and unusually pristine for its age.

everything okay, it's a vintage '67 Mosrite Ventures Model
Here's a sister of you're lady with a closeley serial number
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mosrite-made-19 ... 2305500774
If you ever detach her, would be great to know the serials on the neck and body pocket
Have fun with the lady
Regards,
Phil

^ Yeah that one looks much like mine. Especially the finish.
Okay I received the guitar today. I took lots of pics. With the control panel and neck off. Here they are!

The case, definitely from the 60's. Smells old. But is it original from Mosrite? No logo on it. But its worn.
Guitar itself has dings and wear indicative of age. To me it seems legit and not a japanese copy but what do I know? The bodies neck pocket has 7-10-67 in pencil and a word that looks like Carrier or someones last name?
Kluson deluxe tuners seem to have the patina that make the chrome look dull and not shiny new.
My real concern is playability. The A and G string are getting mad buzzing. The zero fret no nut spec makes the situation more tricky and I have yet to have a go at the truss rod. I will take it to have it get a setup if I am confident its legit.

Definitely original USA/Bakersfield Mosrite Ventures, the complete guitar looks just fine.
Handwritten word in body's neck pocket is "Carrillo", one of the workers I guess, quite often he "signed" the bodies like that.
Buzzing often comes from loose bridge saddles, they should touch the base plate really hard – if not -> buzz
