Thanks! I did not find any info in that thread in regard to the construction. I have don't some searching and it seems like the top is confirmed as solid but the back and sides are up in the air.

For those who do have a Balladeer or Serenade, do you prefer thinner gauge strings on it than you would, say, a Martin or Taylor?

I recently acquired a Serenade & have yet to change strings.

hey GT. i use acoustic lights .011’s...works great for me. i wish you happy times with your serenade, they are really nice sounding guitars.

I did get the thinner gauge strings. Martin .011 & it does sound better. The guitar is in fair condition, so I'm not expecting miracles :)

not sure what you mean by miracles, but....
mine had a lot of “character” when i first got it (i.e. fret buzz). a small bit of work with a fret file and raising the bridge a hair did wonders. the smaller (classical guitar size) body and the shorter 24.5” scale give it something special IMO
