Was recently checking out what I believe to be (based on pot codes of 1972) an early 70's Mk1 (with classic single coils, not humbuckers) that has no serial number impressed onto the fretboard. Removed the neck and all that was written on the neck heel is two initials and the word "Maple" written in pencil.. no other markings anywhere. Otherwise looks like a fully legit Mosrite with "Mosrite Of California U.S.A. by Semie Mosely" on the headstock.
Any thoughts on this? A Partsrite? Any other examples of non-serial Mk1's from that era?
