And years later, the Lead Guitar Player would later join a
very well known Southern Rock Band that had a Tragic History....
Name of Band: "Strawberry Alarm Clock."
Their Hit Song: " Incense and Peppermints."
Guitar Player: " Ed King"
Later joined: "Lynyrd Skynyrd."

Originally made for The Strawberry Alarm Clock "Incense & Peppermints" in the 60's these guitars were years ahead of their time.
Semie had once again created something futuristic.
Ed King of Lynyrd Skynyrd was one of the original members of the Strawberry Alarm Clock.
make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.
.........Owner of 9 Mosrites...
.....proud owner and documented:
1963 "the Ventures" Model s/n #0038

Wow, I would of thought someone might of chimed in on this one. Like, do you remember where you were, or what you were doing when you first heard this tune? Did it get "Played to Death" on the radio, did you like the tune, hate the tune, or...??

Semie did some very wild and exotic looking guitars on an individual basis. Barbara Mandrell owned a 'crutch' guitar built by Semie. Read the story, http://www.usd.edu/smm/PluckedStrings/G ... r6190.html

BTW Danny, those Guitars (Surfboards) ended up selling for over $53,000 U.S. Dollars, which I thought was a little cheap, being they were a Set of Three guitars.

BTW,The comparison I'm making is Kurt Cobain's Gospel model selling for over $130,000. When you see that, and then look at the Art Work Collection above, I keep asking myself, "Why so Cheap??? Somebody got a good deal, and I hope they are in safe hands. What would be even cooler is if the New Owner made contact with the Forum!

On a somewhat related note, Ed King played on some of the recordings by the obscure and underrated 60s psych band The Hunger.
Their Hammond-soaked "Strictly From Hunger" LP came out in two versions, they re-recorded it with Ed King playing guitar on the 2d version instead of John Morton, their regular guitarist.
Incidentally, John Morton played a Hallmark Sweptwing!

You can hear The Hunger on their myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/strictlyfromhunger
The first 4 songs on the player are from their original "Strictly From Hunger" LP (with John Morton playing guitar) but the 5th song is some awful modern thing...don't judge 'em by that one. Strat with the instrumental "Portland '69" which is a psych classic.
