Model vii Mosrite?? Can anyone tell me about this?

Postby crewdawg82 » Wed Oct 17, 2012 10:31 am

I came across this guitar and I do not now know anything about it . Could someone please share some knowledge about this? Thank you. I attached a link with a bunch of pictures.

Looks like the pickups are Mosrite humbuckers -quite special. The two push buttons could be for coil splitting and/or phaze shifting. Looks like the tremolo arm has been removed to make it into a fixed stoptail. The tuners are not original (screw holes for the original tuners are visibly unoccupied). Knowledgeable folks will chime in, give 'em time. Are you the owner?

Those were made in the early-to-mid-'70's. The Mosrite humbuckers are original--I used to have a Mosrite Stereo 350 with the same pickups. The pushbutton switches on those are usually tone control (and maybe volume too) bypass switches.

Here's a couple threads about V2's (2V???) very similar to yours that may be helpful for info.

Awesome V2 by the way, gotta love that! Someone on the forum may be able to find a string guide (nut) for it in their spare parts.

by the way these were made only from 72 to 74. michael marks owned # 2V0007 that's supposably dates to 71. i owned 2V0042 and 2V0110. i almost sold the fireburst recently, but i'm glad now that I didn't.
