I have searched the internet and stumbled upon this forum. I need some help. A buddy of mine is selling his Mosrite to me for "as much as I think it is worth...give me a number" type price. Now, since he is a friend, I do not want to lowball him, but seeing as I don't have a tonne of cash, I want to make sure that I don't overspend on it either. So, in my search for a price guide/help, I stumbled here. SO I will post pictures, and if you could let me know approx. how much it is worth, that is great. I don't want to pass up this one, as I have lusted for a Mosrite for ages!

Here are the pictures he sent me over e-mail. http://s462.photobucket.com/albums/qq35 ... risrules2/
and I uploaded them to photobucket.

Thanks all for you help!

Chris.

Edit: The actual guitar is the black/white one...not the little notebook drawing...that is something different, but feel free to look at it if you like.

I don't want to sound too negative by putting down this guitar, but I believe the guitar is one of those Mosrite parts guitars being sold out of Canada. A lot of these parts are seconds or rejects. I've read some 'BS' stories about Semie only producing these in limited quantity for the Canadian market using the Gospel label. I don't think he would have ever allowed an ill fitting pickguard with the routing being so far off around the neck pickup to be release to the public. The vibrato also appears to be unfinished brass.

Best thing to do is try it out and see if you like it. As for being a fair market price, I think it would depend on what price YOU place on it. I've seen some of these Mosrite parts guitars sell on eBay for as little as $500. It all depends on the expertise used in the assembly of the parts.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunatly, I moved away a couple years ago, and for me to try the guitar out before I buy it is more than unlikely. Its funny that you brought up a special Canadian guitar because he is from Ontario. I think I will pass on it, as I have my eye on either a DiPinto Mach IV or maybe a Univox. Thanks though. I was thinking about offering him about $800, but seeing as it is probably not so hot, I'll just pass.

That guitar is on e-bay right now.

I think he is trying to pull something over on people with his description but the price is not bad right now.

Ya I know it was on ebay, just because if it was a good find then I could keep it to myself...sorry, I lied. But anyways, I still am not sure. The paint looks funny on it too...almost wet. But again, thanks for the replies.
