those guitars are mosrite parts, but not actually made by mosrite. they were built in LA by the guy that sold mosrite their paint in the '60's ! Bakeoboy

Good to know, Artie. Thanks for filling us in. When you're retired, you may want to think about (co)writing "The Definitive Mosrite Book" :P

That's another one for the Mosrite book, right there. If that guy had waited a little longer, he could've had himself a yacht! :o OK, I know...just another "if" story.

Ancient post, sorry.
I still have this Mosrite (late '64?) and I'd like to get it re-fretted. The frets are so low it's hard to play. I know these originally had really small frets so I was going get it re-fretted with the small vintage Fender style frets. Is that what you guys would do?
I'd really like to play it more as it just sits in the case (which is stupid).
Thanks for your help.

That is exactly what I would do. If you can't play it, you won't play it. I know people frown on this but have refretted a couple of my personal models and they really do come alive. Some of these frets are lower and flatter than others and I don't know anyone who likes them that way.

Thanks Bob.
I'm going to do it. The guitar is too cool to sit in a case. I'm never going to sell it so collector's value is a moot point.
