Up until recently I owned a Japanese made Johnny Ramone style Mark II that I had bought for a song in Ochanomizu, Tokyo whilst I was living there 10 years ago. I was actually searching for a Mark I at the time, but I came across this guitar and it was a sort of marriage of convenience. I like the Ramones, but I'm not a Johnny Ramone fan per-se, it was more the action and feel of the guitar that sold me. But, I really enjoyed playing it - it was a fair chunk of a guitar and loads of fun. But it wasn't a real Mosrite, and it didn't have THAT tone.
So recently I decided to sell it, and search for a real one. Plenty of searching, dead ends and hours on the net later, I came across Mosman's Mark II that he bought earlier this year at a guitar shop in Sydney. It's listed in the thread 'My latest Find', down below this one a few places.
It arrived last night, and it's a thing of beauty. I am so thrilled.
As Bill has already said, the serial number is B610, the neck is stamped Jan 31 1966, the body stamp is smudged but says Feb 11 19xx, and the pots have the stamp 1346605, which puts it in the first week of Feb, '66. Here are some photos;

I have to say thanks to Bill, he was a pleasure to deal with.
