Hello there, nice to meet you.

I live in the Greenbelt Md. area so you and I are neighbors. I have a Moseley made Standel just like yours and my friend in VA. has one too. His is number 10 and mine is number 5. What number is yours? It's hard to imagine there being more than 10 of these.

Hi Bob. I'm over in Colesville. I do not own this lil puppy. I run a facebook group dealing with Sam Koontz designed Harptone's and Standel's. The owner showed up a couple of days ago and posted. He says it's going up on Ebay soon. I have no idea what he's asking for it. Find my group page and post up a pic or two. of your and your friend's. I'd love to see them. I'll se if the owner can give me the serial number.

Ok, This means his is number 2. These we made in 1961. So number 102 stands for 1961 Guitar number 2.

I own the one that Deke posted a pic of in this thread that looks exactly like the one you have pictured here in the case. Mine is numbered 105. Which you now know means 1961 Guitar number 5.

My buddy in VA. owns serial number 110.

I doubt there are more than 10 that exist. The deal was never solid between Bob Crooks and Semie Moseley. I spoke to Bob about these guitars before he died. He said Semie wanted more money than he could pay for the guitars, so they never ended up being an official run or deal for Standel. I have seen Standel literature that shows guitars like these but not this model. I wonder if those were made just for the catalog and the deal fell apart, or if those catalog examples were even made by Semie at all.

That's amazing to think that there are only 10 of those guitars, and three of them are now inter-linked. Although I've been familiar with Mosrite as a brand; in whole, I still love learning new little tidbits of history due to the scarcity of them. Stuff like this doesn't happen hardly ever on other forums.
