Here's one that many of you have probably never seen

Postby Bob K » Sat Sep 20, 2008 11:39 am

I have a 1988 25th Anniversary Ventures Model. Semie told me he planned to make 25 of these but actually only made about 12. This one is number 2507 (number 7 of 25). All were painted metallic silver with a silk-screened pick guard. This one was located in a pawn shop in California and presumably had never been sold since new. The case was all dusty but cleaned up nicely. The guitar is in mint condition. I have never seen another one of these.

How come only 12 out of 25 were made?

I used to own one of those too! Mine was 2502. Love the neck detail. Surprisingly fat neck profile and big frets too.

I don't have the answer for that (or I forgot - I haven't talked to him for 16 or 17 years)
