Don't know about the knobs but the trussrod cover isn't. The rest look stock and amazingly good shape.

Not being an expert I'm going to go out on a limb and say that's one of the Japanese models. Not that that's a bad thing.

It's an American Model. The knobs are the 'Jewel' or lathed type which were used from '63 to the '65-'66 transition.
I can't tell what the devil is going on with the truss rod, but it's not original. My question is, is the t.r. cover sort of
a clear type?? And oh BTW, I'm leaning toward she's a '65 like mine. Late '65s and very early '66s had no binding
on the only 'f' hole.....

I was thinking those knobs looked like ones I've seen on earlier Mosrites. I'd like to know what the pot codes are. It would be easy to see.
I'd also like to know what's under that truss rod. I don't think I've ever seen three screws on a Mosrite truss rod, nor one that long. It may be hiding a blemish.

Looks like somebody decided not to bother looking for a truss rod wrench with the correct size but instead, simply went ahead 'modifying' the t.r. cavity to fit the tool at hand and so inevitably leaving behind a bad attempt at covering up a 'trail of destruction'
You could easily make a better fitting t.r. cover yourself, I'm sure
Otherwise in great shape and a rare American-history guitar...congrats!
